Our red wine Señorio de Bocos - 'Roble', from the 2006 vintage, has been awarded the Gold Medal and has obtained the highest score of the Gold Zarcillo Awards 2007, organized by the Agricultural Technological Institute of Castilla and Leon.
The Zarcillo Awards is sponsored by the International Wine Office (OIV) and the International Union of Winemakers (UIOE), also it is integrated into the World Federation of Major International Wine and Spirits Competitions.
The competition is open to all wine-producing countries of the world. The concept of wine taken into account is the definition adopted by the OIV.
This year the biennial competition broke its record of submitted wines, a total of 2,159 from 17 countries, including 1,370 red (1,940 Spanish wines come from wineries, among which 641 were from Castilla y León). The organization has cared retail handling and preservation of samples received they have been considerably exceeded in number and place of origin to the previous edition.
The various juries, have been integrated for a total of 72 tasters, half from outside Spain, which since Monday April 30 met at the Provincial Wine Museum of Valladolid, located in Valladolid Peñafiel Castle.
