Our red wine Señorio de Bocos "Roble", from the 2007 vintage, has won the GOLD MEDAL Award Tempranillo with the highest score among the varietal red wines from vintages 2006 and 2007 submitted to the World Tempranillos competition, held in Paris from 3 to 6 June 2008.
The Spanish Federation of Winemakers, with the collaboration of the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX), sponsored by the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) and the official recognition of the Ministry of Environment, Rural and Environment Marino, organized the "International Itinerant Wine Competition Tempranillos the World" to show the oenological quality of Tempranillo and their synonyms (See Synonymy), make it known among consumers and distributors, introduce foreign audiences typologies the most characteristic of this variety and reward the efforts of winemaking companies and oenologists for improving the quality of their products wines.
The priority objectives of the Spanish Federation of Winemakers with the convening of the World Tempranillos 2008 are as follows:
- Increase the production and processing of high quality wines based on Tempranillo, demonstrating the important value of natural, cultural and human factors conjugated with respect to the environment.
- Introduce in international trade and foreign consumers between the richness of Tempranillo wine in the world, and particularly the quality of the winning wines, ensuring that they are properly disseminated.
- Enable the presence of Spanish wine in the world by promoting the variety most recognized in our country.
- To contribute to spreading the culture of wine and reasonable consumption of this drink with heart-healthy qualities.
This international competition is governed by the Regulation listed on the website "http://www.enologo.com/tempranillo/home.html" and meets the standards of the OIV and UIŒ in this area.
